The wart on Sean Murphy’s left middle finger wouldn’t go away despite doctors and creams, so he attempted to blow it off with his shotgun. Murphy pulled the trigger, and once the dust had settled, his entire middle finger was gone.
He was handed a sixteen-week prison sentence and 100 hours of community service for illegal possession of a firearm.
Murphy stood by his decision, telling the Yorkshire Post: “The best thing is that the wart has gone. It was giving me a lot of trouble.”
A thousand-foot-long bridge in southeast China has been coated in butter by authorities, in order to hinder suicide attempts and the traffic jams they cause. The result is surfaces too slippery to climb.
The bridge has been a favorite for some time among people looking to end it all, and officials did everything they could think of to discourage the practice. They put up fences, they positioned guards at each end, but ultimately nothing worked.
That’s when someone presumably discovered a mountain of butter sitting idle in a warehouse somewhere.

Jutting out from a sheer cliff 1,430 meters high, the glass skywalk in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park offers sightseers terrifying thrills and clear view of the mountains below as they tread nervously across the 60 meter long bridge encircling the vertical cliffs of Tianmen Mountain in Hunan province. The 3ft-wide, 2.5in thick glass walkway is so scary that sightseers are requested to wear cloth slip-ons over their shoes when they cross the skywalk, presumably to make the job easier for the cleaners.
No matter how terrifying the glass skywalk looks, it can only be an improvement from the treacherous road made of wooden planks thousands of feet high on the sides of the Huashan Mountain, located in the south of Huayin city.

One hungry diner was shocked to find a live frog inside a Nandos chicken wrap.
The horrified customer spat out the 4-inch long amphibian, but is worried that he may have eaten one of its legs.
Accounts manager Ross Dance said: “I bit into the wrap, but couldn’t chew through it. I excused myself and got it out of my mouth.
“There was a whole frog there. It was still alive. I felt really ill.”
Dance, 32, found the then three-limbed animal at the restaurant chain’s branch in Victoria, central London, and insisted on taking it home in a plastic tub.
Dance, from Crawley in West Sussex, added: “I think I might have eaten one. The thought of chewing on it keeps me awake at night.
“I don’t understand how anyone can put a wrap together and not see a frog. I’m livid. I won’t eat at Nando’s again.”
The South African food firm Nando’s, who gave Dance a £44 refund, said it was taking the incident seriously.
It said the frog must have hopped into washed and ready to eat salad leaves, which are pre-packed and provided by a supplier.
A spokesman said: “We take great care over the quality of our food.
“Unfortunately as Mr Dance refuses to give us the foreign object, we are unable to fully understand where it came from to reach a final conclusion.”
Customers have taken their shock to Twitter, with @SweetGirlNokz saying: “Nandos is a mess.”
The fast-food restaurant also caused controversy this month in Zimbabwe with an advert mocking President Robert Mugabe.

A vegetarian woman in Somerset had an unpleasant dinner time surprise in her bag of Tesco salad – in amongst the healthy leaves was the carcass of a dead bird.
Julie Flynn, a primary school teacher in her thirties from the town of Brimscombe near Bristol, was horrified to find the skeletal remains of a bird in her bag of Tesco rocket salad.
Her partner Paul Streeter told Bristol 24-7 “I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was horrific. Julia was seconds away from eating it,”
“The bird was emaciated and about four inches long. At first Julia thought it was a leaf and tried to separate it with her fork. Then she just screamed and went to be sick.”
The pair headed straight to the store to complain but were at first offered compensation in the form of clubcard points from the supermarket chain. After the couple lodged a formal complaint a spokesman from Tesco has since said “We are in contact with the customer and have apologised.”

Yongjun Wang, a furniture worker in China’s Liaoning Province, was rushed to the hospital after chopping off part of his finger while using an electrical saw. The gravity of the damage done to the finger worried the physician, Dr. Xuesong Huang, so he devised a unique plan to save the digit.
“We had to make a quick decision or he could have lost his finger. We decided to cultivate a new fingertip on his stomach,” explained the doctor to the media.
What had happened was that all muscle and skin from the bottom of the finger was shaved away. In order to get the finger working again they needed to get blood circulating so the body would fix itself by building new muscle and skin. If they didn’t, the whole finger would have had to be amputated. Hence, the attaching of the remaining finger to the stomach. Allowing the blood to freely circulate again the finger is starting to heal itself and the patient should have a new fingertip in a roughly a month. Then the finger will be cut away from the stomach.
