14 year old Robert Nay’s Bubble Ball.

An iPhone physics-based puzzle game designed by 14-year-old Utah 8th grader Robert Nay has been downloaded more than 2 million times since its release Dec 29th.

He programmed it in 6 weeks at the public library.

It’s about moving a small blue ball from one side of the screen to the other by navigating shrewdly crafted obstacle fields of metal and wood.

The Rapture has been rescheduled for October 21st.

In his first radio broadcast since his doomsday prediction failed to pan out in a spectacularly public fashion, California preacher Harold Camping insisted his was an error of interpretation, not fact, and now says the world will end on October 21, 2011.

Camping had kept a low-profile since Saturday, the day he had forecast for the return of Jesus Christ to Earth. He and his devoted followers have been warning for months that on May 21, a select 2% to 3% of the world’s population would be taken to heaven. Those left behind would face months of tribulation before perishing in the Earth’s destruction, which Camping said would happen on October 21.

He told listeners on his Family Radio broadcast Monday that God is “loving and merciful,” and had decided not to punish the humanity with five months of destruction.

But he maintains that the end of the world is still coming.

“We’ve always said October 21 was the day,” Camping said during his show. “The only thing we didn’t understand was the spirituality of May 21. We’re seeing this as a spiritual thing happening rather than a physical thing happening. The timing, the structure, the proofs, none of that has changed at all.”

However, Camping said his group would not be mounting another advertising push. “We’re not going to be passing out tracts,” Camping said. “We’re not going to put up any more billboards. We’re not going to be advertising in any way. The world has been warned. We did our little share and the media picked it up. But now the world has been told, it’s under judgment.”

Here’s some 80’s Rapture:

Superbowl XLV Seats Missing Last Night

Local organizers tried to break the Super Bowl record for attendance by exceeding 105,000, but ended up having to tell about 400 people that they’d paid for seats that weren’t there.  Can you imagine arriving at the stadium and finding out that your seat doesn’t exist?

Pizza 4 Patriots

Uno Chicago Grill has teamed up with DHL and Pizzas 4 Patriots to dish out 7,000 pizzas to United States servicemen and women on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 6; the largest pizza delivery day of the year.

Operation Pizza Bowl was conceived by Retired Air Force Master Sergeant Mark Evans and his son Kent (of Elk Grove, Ill.), with the objective of providing enough deep-dish pizza to feed around 28,000 servicemen and women at several bases throughout Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea and the Philippines in time for Super Bowl Sunday.

The pizzas will leave the DHL New York Gateway and arrive at several bases throughout Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea and the Philippines in time for the game.

The pizzas, along with letters of support to the troops, are transported from New York through the DHL hub at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport where they move onward to regional DHL hubs in the Middle East and Asia.

DHL, which donates its global shipping network for the event, provides door-to-door, final mile delivery for the entire distribution, working closely with the U.S. military to ensure the pizzas are delivered fresh and ready to heat and serve at various military bases.

A special ceremonial send-off will take place on Feb. 1 from UNO’s restaurant at 432 Columbus Ave. in New York City.

“UNO is delighted to once again partner with Pizzas 4 Patriots to ensure our troops can enjoy a slice of home during this year’s Super Bowl,” said UNO’s CEO Frank Guidara.

Vets, active duty also treated

Meanwhile, troops — both active duty and veteran status — who are not currently deployed will also be treated to a meal by the company for its Operation Pizza Bowl promotion.

To celebrate the “deployment” of the pizzas to service members in Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea and the Philippines, UNO is inviting all members of the military, both veterans and active duty, to enjoy a free individual deep dish or thin crust pizza with the purchase of an entrée or pizza of equal or greater value on Feb. 6 and Feb. 7. No coupon is necessary.

For redemption, customers simply need to show their military or veteran’s ID.

History of the Cheesehead

Packer fans across the country are scrambling to get their foam cheeseheads before Green Bay and Pittsburgh square off in Sunday’s Super Bowl. Ralph Bruno made the first cheese wedge hat 25 years ago by burning holes in his mother’s sofa cushion.
